G’day, My name is David Fraser and my hobby is photography, specifically bird and nature photography although I do dabble in portrait, macro and abstract photography, a bit of everything really!!

I live in the lovely town of Bathurst NSW Australia. If you have heard of Bathurst it is probably as the home of V8 motor racing in Australia but Bathurst and its bush surrounds are also a wonderfully place for nature and wildlife photography including the world famous Blue Mountains only 45 mins away.

Since I was young I always had a interest in cameras and photography from my very first Brownie film camera up through to the modern mirrorless camera I own today I have always loved playing around with, and using cameras and photographic equipment.

If I had to pick a subject I photograph the most it would be birdlife. I only started photographing them about 2 years ago once I purchased my first telephoto zoom lens. I soon learnt that you can never have a big enough telephoto lens for bird photography. Most birds are shy of humans and you can never seem to get close enough to them to fill the frame, it seems that the more striking and beautiful the bird is the more they tend to stay away from humans and will fly away as soon as possible.

Lately I have been taking photos of something that cannot fly away from you, the Milky Way, I have purchased a f4 wide angle lens and am practicing whenever we have a clear night. I hope to show some of my Milky Way photos on this site once I deem them acceptable enough to post!.

I hope you enjoy viewing my site and I hope it inspires you to get out and take your own amazing photos!
